“One of the worst consequences of the Pandemic was on the job market - it saw a large shake-up as social distancing became the new norm worldwide. I quickly noticed that on LinkedIn, the virality of two kinds of posts rose sharply - those who were looking for a job and those who were still hiring on an immediate basis. I decided to create a short-term project by "Link"ing "Avai"lable professionals whose careers were impacted by the pandemic to those who were hiring. I decided to leverage my network on LinkedIn to help in these trying times. As for now, AvaiLink has 1500+ job seekers and 100+ recruiters registered. With my partners, I have been averaging about 20 interviews per week. I plan to increase that to about 50 per week and more soon. The candidates have been placed at some top firms like Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Citibank, Amazon, etc. This served as an opportunity for me to learn the basics of starting something from scratch and helped me apply strategic management, entrepreneurship, and networking concepts (things I studied about in school) in real life.
Over and above everything, it was an opportunity to "Make a difference" and carry forward the ethos of EDHEC.”
